Edel+White ProOrtho UltraSoft Orthodontic Toothbrush with Anti-Stress Handle
Pro-Ortho: aces for braces
Maximum cleaning with minimum effort
So you’ve got braces. They’re a pain – literally! – but we’ve developed a toothbrush that helps you get the best of your braces. Yes, it looks weird, but all the unusual elements of this brush were designed for a reason. With Pro-Ortho, you can:
- Brush everything in one: its wide head cleans tooth, gum and braces at once
- Be tough on braces: inner bristles deeply clean braces while outer ones brush along the gum line
- Give it a squeeze: its flexible handle makes it easier to guide the brush around the mouth
Pro-Ortho is a fun and effortless toothbrush for cleaning teeth with braces – it’s so easy that you won’t even realize how well you’re caring!
Stands out from the crowd
So you can stand out in a crowd
A wider head for a better clean: it’s the brush you didn’t know you needed
With six compact rows and 36 tufts of bristles, Pro-Ortho is 1.5x the width of an average toothbrush head. This means it can clean more at once without you even having to think about it – it’s fool-proof! Not only is the head wider, but it’s shorter. This allows you to guide the brush along the braces, cleaning each bracket, tooth and gum as it goes. Before you know it, your two minutes will be up and your teeth, gums and braces will be deeply cleaned with minimal effort.
An optimised brush head with specialist bristles: it’s tough on braces, yet gentle everywhere else
The outer two rows on each side of the brush head are tufted with our UltraSoft Konex HD® bristles. These are so fine and flexible that they are able to adapt to the shapes within the mouth, gently cleaning along the gum line and between teeth.
The middle two rows of bristles are made of much stronger stuff. Don’t get us wrong, our Konex HD® bristles are super durable, but the inner bristles of the Pro-Ortho are stiff and tough, yet safe, on braces. You’ll also notice when looking at the brush that these hardy inner bristles are a little shorter than the UltraSoft outer ones, creating a groove that is designated for your braces. When brushing, this gives you an all-round clean that covers teeth, braces and gums at the same time. You can’t get much more efficient than that!
An anti-stress handle for hands of all abilities: it’s fun, flexible and easy-to-grip
The squeezy handle of Pro-Ortho makes it comfortable – and fun – to brush with! It also means that if you brush too hard, the handle absorbs the excess to prevent damage to your teeth, gums and braces!
Pro-Ortho is Pro-ficient in Pro-longing your smile
Look after your investment and you’ll be smiling with straight and healthy teeth for years to come!
Your braces are a big investment – not only financially, but also in the temporary disruption of your smile! They provide additional cleaning challenges, as they add more surfaces within the mouth for bacteria to adhere to. If you don’t take extra special care while they’re on, then you won’t want to show off your teeth when they’re removed. Though your teeth will look straight, they may be decalcified (white spots on teeth) and existing amongst a mouthful of cavities and gum disease.
Pro-Ortho is a no-brainer and we mean this in two ways. With all its special features, it’s the obvious choice for braces wearers. Plus, it does all the extra cleaning for you (braces, gums and between teeth), so you don’t need to spend any additional time, thought or effort in brushing. Trust in Pro-Ortho – it is, after all, a pro in ortho.
A little extra reading for the dental fanatics...
Pro-Ortho was designed with orthodontics in mind
It’s easy to neglect teeth while wearing braces, but we’re here to help
You may have already heard this from your orthodontist, but did you know that there is a greater risk of tooth decay while you’re wearing braces1? This is due to a higher level of plaque that builds up around the brackets of braces, which was found to be 2-3x higher than that of those without orthodontic appliances2. It was also suggested that poor oral care during orthodontic treatment can increase the deterioration of gums and the underlying bone1, so it’s even more important that you care for your teeth and gums during your time wearing braces.
Konex HDⓇ: the cat’s whiskers
Helping to navigate the contours of your teeth while avoiding damage to gums
The shape of the bristles imparts stability at the base and flexibility in the tip. This helps the bristles adapt to the surfaces of the teeth, hugging their curves and establishing more intimate contact than conventional bristles can achieve. They are the cat’s whiskers. No, seriously – they are! Just as whiskers help a cat to navigate the world and avoid danger, our Konex HD® bristles navigate your teeth and avoid damage.
Remember earlier we said Pro-Ortho features the softest bristles? Well, we weren’t being hyperbolic. Our Konex HD® bristles are five times thinner than regular UltraSoft bristles (the softest grade of bristles), so they’re UltraUltraSoft. This provides comfort during brushing, particularly on tender gums and tissues that may be sore from chafing. You may think that the word softness is synonymous with weakness, but our Konex HD® bristles are in fact five times more durable than those of conventional toothbrushes.
Konex HD® bristles play a starring role in many of our toothbrushes, but their importance in Pro-Ortho cannot be understated. Their UltraSoftness means sore gums can be gently. Plus their teeny tips, thanks to the tapered shape of the bristles, can comfortably clean along the gum line and around the brackets of braces.
Why Pro-Ortho is Pro-ficient
Align, then brush. It’s that simple!
A recommended brushing technique when wearing braces is to start by brushing the gum line, then brushing above and below the brackets. However, Pro-Ortho cleans the entire tooth, braces and corresponding gum in one easy step.
When brushing with Pro-Ortho, we recommend holding the brush at a 45° angle to the gums, directing the bristles towards the gum line and aligning the stiffer middle bristles with your braces. Applying a light pressure, brush each tooth using a gentle back and forth motion. We suggest starting with the outer surface of your back teeth first, working your way forward before repeating on the inner and chewing surfaces.
Take extra care of your teeth while wearing braces by following up with our specialized SuperSoft Floss to clean under wires and Fresh + Protect mouthwash to rinse all around any areas you may have missed.
