great for hard to reach mandibular molars on the lingual side or for cleaning around implants or cleaning interproximal spaces on orthodontic patients with fixed retention.

Very happy with this brush. I’ve been trying to find a good replacement for the Sulca brush for over a year and I finally found it. Thank you!

    Lactona double ended sulcus brush

I have been looking for a replacement for the Sulcabrush that is no longer available. I purchased both the Lactona Double Ended Sulcus Interdental Brush and the Tepe InterSpace Brush from Kleenteeth. I did not find that either proved to be as effective as the Sulcabrush. The longest bristles on the Sulcabrush tips were 9 mm. The Tepe brush tips were 11 mm and the Lactona bristles were 12 mm. Either due to the bristle length of the fact that the Sulcabrush appears to have more bristles in each tip, the bristles do not flex as much as either the Lactona or the Tepe. I imagine the extra length and flexibility could be features if you’re cleaning in and around braces, for example, but I did not find either to be as effective for cleaning the gumline. I did like how the Lactona has tips at both ends but once I’ve used all the Sulcabrush replacement tips I have on hand I will use the Tepe medium firm as a replacement.

I was looking for a brush to replace the Sulcabrush my dentist provided because I have had good results using it. This one comes to the closest that I have tried. The others have been too soft and flimsy. These bristles are a little too long to be stiff enough so I cut about 1/3 off the bristle and that made it perfect for me.

Lactona Double Ended Sulcus Interdental Brush - Dual Angle Soft Nylon Bristles

Finally found something to replace the now defunct Sulcabrush. Bristles are a bit softer but that's probably a good thing. Works well between my implant and gum.

LACTONA is the one to get (the other handles aren’t as easy to hold)

LACTONA is the one to get (the other handles aren’t as easy to hold). I have been using an Interplex toothbrush for years, and just switched to the Oral-B. These toothbrushes do very well along the outer gum line of the teeth… I wish I had discovered decades ago these little brushes, excel at getting the spot where the teeth curve into the gum line (between the teeth).

Best brush of 3 (I tried)

Posted by Robert Mckee on 20th Apr 2025

I bought three similar brushes, and this is the by far the best one, because of the two differently angled heads and the shape of the brush tip (Seriously, I will be throwing the other two in the trash).. A dental hygienist (finally” convinced me to do a better job brushing my teeth.. This little brush gets the spots, the electric toothbrush misses, and to compare; it’s faster, and easier than flossing (once you do it a few times to get used to the brush.. Actually, idk if I’m doing it correctly; I put the tip between the teeth at roughly 90° and brush outward (I can feel the brushes at the gum line, and I press slightly and brush away from the gum line once or twice for each spot).

    Lactona sulcus interdental brush

The shape and angle of the brush is fine, enabling the user to reach inner and outer surfaces easily. I am disappointed with how soft and flimsy the bristles of the brush are, which affects how well they clean.
